SHELTERBOX
The total raised so far for Shelterbox last Christmas is £430.00. A wonderful sum!! Any final contributions should now be made via BACS, if possible, (Sort Code: 30-96-68 and Account number: 00503131) with the reference 'Shelterbox'). Thank you.
CHURCH HALL REFURBISHMENT
The Church Hall kitchen has recently undergone a major facelift and the Hall is now ready to reopen for bookings, once Government guidelines allow. Any donations would be most welcome towards the approximate £12,000 cost of the venture.
Donations can be made via BACS. Our BACS details are Sort Code: 30-96-68 and Account number: 00503131. Please include your surname as a reference.
The Church Hall is now the only hall available to the community in Tamerton Foliot and it would be great to have as much support from the community, financial or otherwise, to help achieve our goal of having a fantastic facility available for everyone to benefit from and enjoy.
New Toilet in St Mary's Church
Plans are still continuing for our 'Flush Fund' - the fundraising fund to have a toilet and kitchen area installed in Church. Plans have been submitted, and the Diocese have granted a Faculty to carry out the work. Grant applications are in progress and although some funds are still suspended due to Covid-19 others are now starting to open up again. In order to apply for possible grants we need to demonstrate that we are raising some of the necessary funds ourselves and we have raised about £12,000 so far. In total we need to raise £100,000 so any donations are always welcome.
Our latest fundraising event is a Flushathon!
So far our 'Flushathon' has raised over £4,000.00! It is still possible to sponsor someone or to pledge some money to the appeal to raise money for the St Mary's Flush Fund.
Pat Eyres is working hard to access a variety of grants, but many of these require details of our own fund-raising efforts before they decide whether to support us.
Donations or Sponsorship money can be paid in to the church account by using our BACS details
Sort Code: 30-96-68 and Account number: 00503131.
Please include ‘FF’ and your surname as a reference so we know its for the FlushFund.
Plant Britain
The BBC, through its Country File programme, has launched an initiative to plant a tree for every child starting Primary School in 2020. Mary Dean School has embraced the idea and the PCC have unanimously agreed to support the idea of a partnership with Mary Dean School. The initiative will involve the St. Mary’s’ community sponsoring the purchase of trees, and the necessary protection, as a means of showing our strong partnership with the school. Whilst the Country File programme is offering the chance to apply for packs of trees through The Woodland Trust – and Mary Dean School will apply for one of these – The proposal is that the PCC would buy a pack of 105 saplings plus protection, which would cost approximately £200. The Head Teacher supports the idea enthusiastically and has already earmarked a suitable location on the school site. Ros Watkins has also agreed that some of the flower fund could be used for the project. If you would like to contribute to the cost, any donations would be gratefully received. If you can, please use BACS transfer (Sort Code: 30-96-68 and Account number: 00503131) with the reference 'Trees'). Thank you.
